IL-104 over Illinois River

The IL-104 over Illinois River is a 2120' long and 47' wide bridge with a 590' long steel-tied arch main span and two approach units, 720' and 810' in length. The bridge replaces an 80 year old truss bridge which was structurally defiient and functionally obsolete. Demo of old bridge and construction of new bridge was completed in 2016. The project also included new roadway approaches on new alignments and reconstruction of IL-104 roadway from IL-99 to US-67.

Vinod was the Project Manager and Lead Structural Engineer for Phase I study and Phase II design engineering for this project. The scope of the engineering services included topographic surveys, hydraulic analysis, geometric refinements, bridge type study for the Illinois River Bridge, and the final design and construction documents.
